Let’s set the scene. Steadicam all day and you’re flying a power hungry Alexa35. Quick takes with long resets in-between . There’s a limited number of on-board batteries, but you’ve got a kick-ass 2nd AC. She’s all over it. Every time you dock she’s got you plugged into a block battery before the AD calls, “Back to One!” Then there’s a card change and the 1st AC loses connection on their video and Script has a question and it’s, “Camera’s up! Roll sound!” Actors are waiting. Off you go…
...and down topples your stand, the battery cable gets ripped in half and the power port is mangled beyond recognition. Whoops. So it goes.

Strong magnets in the plugs allow for safe and convenient single-handed attachment with worry-free breakaway at a moment’s notice. Now quickly move your Steadicam or handheld setup onto “shore power” between takes without fear of accidental damage.
Integrated design features prevent any chance of over-voltage, short circuits, or reverse polarity. Available for every major cinema camera on the market:

Don’t know which battery cable to choose? If you are using newer generation power distro boxes we really really really recommend the 24v cable. Some older “d-boxes” unfortunately may only be compatible with 12v block batteries, but with newer systems, whenever using 12v-standard on-board batteries it is hugely advantageous for proper hot-swap prioritization to have the block battery voltage be higher than the on-board battery voltage. A Note About Custom Connectors
The Stay Puffed system is compatible with any standard 1B Lemo, 2B Lemo, or Neutrik XLR connector irregardless of pin count or configuration. We offer the most common camera connectors as stocked items, but if you have a custom application please be in touch via email and we can likely create a plug to fit your needs!
A NOTE ON MAGENET STRENGTH:
The magnetic connectors employed here have a medium/light hold strength which cannot be changed or adjusted. Separation feel is akin to that of the common Apple MagSafe laptop connection. The primary intention of this system is for power supply when the camera is at rest in-between takes and we think the hold strength is ideal for that application. Customers who plan to use the cables in other circumstances may find the connection too weak.
